There is a place for you here.
At its core, The Living Room is space for prayer. Everything else grew from that. Whether you come to sit quietly, work through something one-on-one, learn a new way to pray, or bring your church into something deeper, it all comes back to the same thing: a door that's open and a God who shows up.
Nothing here has a fee attached. Our ministries run on donations.
Come and rest
The Prayer Room
The space itself is the heart of this ministry. The Living Room consists of four rooms in a small, cozy building in the heart of Henniker, NH. Each room is set up for a different kind of person, or a different kind of day.
The Community Room
People come here to be with others, pray together, and discover they're not as alone as they thought. You can grab coffee or tea, chat or get real, pray or be prayed for. It's the one room in the space built for company instead of quiet.
The Solo Room
Intentionally sized to fit exactly one person, containing a dedicated painting station and a single chair. If you need to step away from the noise and disappear into quiet reflection for a while, this is the room.
The Quiet Room
This room stays silent, so no one will talk to you here. A few small stations line the walls, each with its own simple prompt. At one station, you might be invited to write down a question you have for God, while another might ask you to pray for a social issue. The stations change from time to time, but the invitation to slow down stays the same. Move through them at your own pace.
The Journaling Room
This room works two ways: two people can sit and pray together here, or you can journal on your own. Some people come just to write, working through whatever's on their mind for as long as it takes. It holds whichever kind of company you need that day, someone else's or your own thoughts.

One on one
Spiritual Counseling
We are all spiritual creatures. We all carry things. Pain from our past. Doubts. Questions. Disappointments. Maybe even hurt from experiences in church.
Spiritual counseling is a dedicated time to work through those things, one-on-one, unhurried, with someone who has walked through some of it herself.
It's for anyone. The person who grew up in church and still can't shake the version of God they were taught to be afraid of. The one who is done pretending faith is easy. The pastor who had no idea how much pain he was carrying around prayer until someone finally asked.
Sessions run about 50 minutes. They can be done in person, at The Living Room, or virtually over Zoom. This is not licensed therapy. It is certified Christian spiritual care, grounded in training and experience, right here in New Hampshire.
Ongoing companionship
Spiritual Direction
Spiritual Direction is when a companion walks alongside you in your journey with God. It is about learning to pay attention — to what the Lord is doing and may be saying to you in this season of your life. It is different from counseling in that it is not primarily about working through problems, though the Lord may attend to them during the experience. It is about listening to the Lord together.
Sessions run about 50 minutes. They can be done in person, at The Living Room, or virtually over Zoom. Together we pay attention to what God might be saying in your life right now: through your circumstances, through scripture, through the things that keep surfacing when you get quiet.
Personal and group
Retreat Facilitation
A personal retreat day at The Living Room is a day to slow down, pray, and leave with something you didn't have before. It can be guided by a spiritual director or simply be a day of solitude and quiet to spend as you feel led.
I also facilitate group and church retreats on-site at The Living Room and off-site across New Hampshire and New England. The format is similar: a little teaching, a lot of time alone with God, and space to process together afterward.
If you're a church or ministry looking for a Christian retreat space in New Hampshire, get in touch and we'll talk through what would work for your group.
Groups and churches
Prayer Workshops
Most people think prayer is one-directional. They also assume that hearing from God is something reserved for the especially spiritual, pastors, mystics, people who have it together in ways they don't.
Neither of those things is true.
A prayer workshop is two to three hours of teaching and practice, designed to change the way people think about prayer and give them actual tools to take home. We work through what prayer really is, why it can feel so exhausting or out of reach, and then dig into the different ways God speaks to different people, because He created us all differently, and He talks to us that way too.
I've seen people walk out of a workshop realizing that God has been speaking to them for years and they just didn't recognize it as His voice.
Workshops are for groups. They've ranged from people brand new to faith to longtime believers and pastors who wanted to go deeper. We lead these all throughout the year in-person at The Living Room. You can also book us to come to your church or ministry to conduct a workshop.
For churches and ministry leaders
Church Consultation and Prayer Room Design
Prayer gatherings in most Christian churches have a problem: no one comes. Not because prayer doesn't matter, and not because people don't want to talk with God, but because the culture around it hasn't been built yet.
Whether your church or ministry is in New Hampshire or across New England, if you want to build something real around prayer, I can help. We start with a prayerful conversation, talk through barriers, and discuss where to go based on your vision for your community. From there I can offer strategies, come and teach, help design a prayer night or week, or help you set up a prayer room.
